Travel tips, worldly "wisdom," and airline/travel industry insider insight from two opinionated, globetrotting career travel agents with (we hope) a better than average sense of humor. Have 25+ travel industry years and a heap of great (mis)adventures in 85+ countries under our belts. "We haven't been everywhere but it's on our list."
Hey there! And thanks for stopping by. We're longtime certified Atlanta travel consultants Ann & Wendy. Been front-line travel agents since (yikes!) 1983. Ok, we'll admit from the get-go that we are a bit, shall we say, "unorthodox." Some of our clients even might say we're more than just slightly "off-the-wall." But after all our years in the travel industry (we've worked with the airlines too), we know travel inside and out.
And besides....There aren't too many travel agents who like to brag about finishing dead last in the Berlin Marathon, swimming in a volcanic thermal crack with three cute Icelandic naked guys, wandering into a drug raid in Old San Juan, tracking howler monkey poop with biologists in the jungles of Belize, getting tear-gassed in curlers outside a Seoul Korea beauty salon, or hitching a ride with an Amish family in a horse and buggy, to name few of (mis)adventures.
The Trip Chicks travel stories have appeared in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Risks of Sunbathing Topless (Seal Press,) Columbia County Magazine, The Thong Also Rises (Travelers' Tales), Travel Post Monthly, Cultural Exploring Magazine, and on online websites including LonelyPlanet.com, RickSteves.com, BootsnAll.com, and AmericanChronicle.com.
We've hosted several travel talk radio shows, used to fill in occasionally for now nationally-syndicated travel expert Clark Howard, and been quoted in the Washington Post, Travel Weekly Magazine, and others. In addition, we have served as expert travel sources for FOXNews.com, CNBC.com, MSNBC.com, CNN.com. A labor of love and a sometimes a monkey on our backs, our first book will chronicle some of our very colorful travel (mis)adventures and reveal our closely-guarded insider travel secrets.
We believe travel is the best education and laughter's the best medicine. Our travel mantra is "too many places and too little time," and our mission is to encourage our fellow Americans, in our country with the world's highest percentage of unused vacations, to take advantage of that hard-earned time off. Just get out there and take in more of the amazing planet we are fortunate to share!
Along the way, if through our blog we can share some of our best travel tips, hear some of yours, and/or try answering travel questions you might have, we'd be happy campers. Thanks for joining us for the ride. And stay tuned for more "Cool Travel Tips" with The Trip Chicks.
